Improve education, health and social cohesion and the world becomes a better place for all of us.
Solutions to such problems have further multiplier effects on the quality and dignity of human life.
For example, an educated mother can better feed and educate her children. Better-educated children are less likely to die of diseases, can later earn a better living for themselves and their families, and are less likely to engage in violence.
However social entrepreneurs face impediments. There is no potential impact without appropriate capacity, community and capital. And potential impact does not get realised unless these three elements are aligned.
Jumpstart-up overcomes impediments by building capacity, capital and community for social enterprises. It also acts as a platform that garners trust, commitment and security among stakeholders, which aligns those three elements and multiplies realised social impact.
Our Impact Programme provides structure, processes and coaching that build capacity within the enterprise and provide live, constructive - rather than investigative - due diligence for investors. It shepherds Participants through Conception, Finance and Mobilisation modules, bringing clarity and rigour into the planning process and success into the execution of that planning.
The Impact Ecosystem coalesces investors and service providers around each Participant. Pre-qualified investors from around the world invest independently or alongside Jumpstart-up, taking advantage of trust, commitment and security that the Programme provides for them and for the entrepreneur. Selected service professionals help with Mobilisation of planning for each enterprise.
Our Social Returns Fund allows us to use donor funds for seed investments on soft commercial terms in selected Programme Participants, providing capital to jump start their organisations and positioning them to source commercial capital to fund their future growth.
The end result - healthy, scalable, replicable, sustainable social enterprises with business models that optimise commercial returns and maximise social impact.
