BaoBab Life - welcome to the Impact Programme

Entrepreneurship is the engine of growth.  Even more so in developing countries. Small and medium-sized enterprises not only provide jobs but create platforms for ongoing, sustainable, growing businesses. These businesses adapt well to the local environment and  to changes in the market.

Hundreds of millions of people live below the poverty line in Africa (i.e. on less than $2 per day).  A rapidly increasing population, increasing pollution and deforestation, and slow economic growth are exacerbating the problem.

This is why Jumpstart-up is so glad to welcome BaoBab Life into our Impact Programme. This company, driven by two passionate entrepreneurs based in Fontainebleau, France - Nicolas Durand and Herbert Ochtman, is focused on creating these small to medium-sized businesses in Africa. Moreover, they are using products proven over the last few decades to have a significant impact on users’ health and living conditions to do it.

BaoBab Life is about to launch its first pilot in Zimbabwe and we are looking forward to being side by side with them as they grow and develop the business.
